The truth always comes out

I know many of you have seen, heard or read about the Sandusky case and the findings from an investigation conductor by Louis Freeh, the former director of the federal bureau of investigations. This man found what most of us have probably being thinking all along. I for one had a strong feeling that Paterno knew more about Sandusky’s behavior but chose to look the other way. It makes me sick to my stomach to think that he knew and could have prevented the abuse from continuing. Based on the document produced, it is clear to see that Penn State and Paterno did not want to tarnish the image of the football program. Is that what our society has come to now? Sport programs come over the well-being innocent young children? Come on people it is time to set your priorities in order. Money, fame, and glory are fleeting and at the end of the day they mean nothing. We need to look at how we treat each other, our children are watching and copying what they see. Make sure that your choices are good and that they reflect the golden rule.

Children are so precious but we as a selfish and mindless society somehow find ways to screw them over without ever thinking about the type of adults they are going to become. Paterno was a father himself and it ticks me off to think that the father in him didn’t kick in and stand up for those boys whose parents were not able to stand up for them. I know many people celebrated Paterno because of his contribution to the athletic program at Penn State but to me he was just another selfish SOB who only thought about himself and the fame of being such an iconic coach. To me he failed big time when he looked the other way. He could have been one of the greatest in my opinion if he had stepped up and reported Sandusky right after he became aware of what had been going on. Shame on the Penn State officials who like Paterno, looked the other way because it was the “easy” thing to do instead of growing some and doing the right thing. Who cares if your school looked bad a minute or two? It would have been a ground breaking event for such a great and powerful school to stand up and say “no, we do not condone such sick and deprave behavior.”

I am fired up about this topic because we live in a country that has laws in place to help protect children. There are millions of children worldwide without laws such as ours and these men looked the other way. I  hate people who have complete and utter disregard for the well-being of those who are not able to stand up and fight for themselves. Children are to be protected at all cost and it is time that all adults stop and think about how their everyday choices are impacting children. If you put your wallet before a child, you should probably take a long hard look at yourself in the mirror because that my friend is not right. Ok, I’m done with this rant for now. I get worked up over things like this because it seems like common sense for someone to report when there is suspected child abuse but I guess that is no longer how the world works. I am going to give my babies an extra kiss goodnight tonight and pray for those children who may not have someone to give them the love and protection they  need and deserve.

I thank you for stopping by and for reading. I sure hope that you find something meaningful and helpful during this visit and may God bless you :)
