Smart Holiday Shopping

Here is a link to a great article on how stay on budget during the holiday season. I love it because it gives a variety to options that are great for parents and children. Please remember that the holidays are not about how much you spend on things or how many items you give or recieve…Christmas is about celebrating our Savior’s birth. I would encourage you to do a family Bible study on the topic of our Savior’s birth every night to keep your children focused on the true meaning of the season. I don’t know about you all but in our household, our children know that santa is a fictional character. We told them a long time ago because we are trying to raise honest and God respecting individuals. I understand why some parents give their children the impression that santa is real but I think its wrong that we tell our children not to lie to us but then start off their lives with lies about santa and the tooth fairy. Be honest with your children about where their presents are coming from. I think that our children appreciate their presents more and are much more realistic about what they ask for when they know that it is coming from mom and dad and not some “magical” character. This is a not lecture in any way, I just wanted to let you all know that you can have a wonderful Christmas without having to spend all your money on gifts that may or may not appreciated or needed.

your feedback is appreciated!!!
