Single Moms Cause Child Abuse…According To A Wisconsin Bill.

Okay, So I was going to take a break from posting but this article really irks me. This man thinks he knows what causes child abuse in our country and somehow created the perfect solution. His solution is to blame women…single mothers to be exact. I was raised by a single mom for part of my life and it was not by choice. My mother wanted to be married and live the ideal life but it wasn’t in the cards for her. There are millions of women who are now single parents not by choice in most cases. I have friends who are now single parents and were once married. Based on what I see, they seem to be better parents now that they are single. How healthy is it for a child to grow up in a home where both parents fight constantly? Based on my experience in the mental health field, I can say that children are better of in a home where there is love and respect. To say that single moms cause child abuse is beyond disrespectful to all those hard-working mom who work 40 plus hours a week, volunteer at their child’s school, take their children to sport practice, music lessons, help with homework, cook healthy nutrition meals and do everything they can to give their children the life they deserve and need. I believe that the Governor of Wisconsin needs to drop this bill and he needs to publicly apologize to all single moms for insinuating that they are the reason for child abuse in this country.
