In Memoriam: Captain Matthew W. Bancroft

Capt. Matthew W. Bancroft

Captain Matthew W. Bancroft was  originally from  Milwaukee, Oregon but his home of record was Shasta, California and was assigned to the  Marine Aerial Refueler Transport Squardron 352 (VMGR-352), Marine Corps Air Station, Miramar, CA. Captain Bancroft died when the KC-130 Hercules air tanker grazed a peak, caught fire and crashed into a mountainside in southwest Pakistan.  He was 29 years old at the time of his death and he is survived by his Mary Ellen and their three children, Sean, Christian and Bailey Madison. As well as his parents Bob and Beverly, and his younger sister Sarah. I am not sure that he has more siblings but I will update this post if I found more. I want to thank his family especially his children and to remind them that their father was a hero and that should always be proud of the person he was. He didn’t have to join the military but he did because he loved his country and he went on deployment to defend our nation. Thank you Captain Bancroft may you rest in peace.
