Staff Sergeant Walter F. Cohee III

Staff Sergeant Walter F. Cohee, III was originally from Mardela Springs, Maryland and was assigned to the Marine Heavy Helicopter Squadron 361 (HMH-361) of Marine Aircraft Group 16, 3rd Marine Aircraft Wing, Marine Corps Air Station, Miramar, CA. Sergeant Cohee died on January 19th, 2002 when the CH-53E helicopter crashed in a remote mountainous area south of Bagram, Afghanistan. Sergeant Cohee is survived by his father Walter F. Cohee Jr, his mother Jeanne Cohee, and his younger brother Kris Cohee. Staff Sergeant Cohee was respected by his peers and superior officers and he loved his time in the Corps and I thank him for making the ultimate sacrifice. My thoughts and prayers go out to his family as they still grieve sudden death of their loved one. Rest in peace Sergeant!!!
