In Memoriam: Captain Bartt D. Owens

Captain Bartt D. Owens

Captain Bartt D. Owens was originally from Middletown, Ohio and was assigned to the E Co, 160th Special Operations Aviation Regiment, based at Fort Campbell, Ky. At the time of his death, Captain Owens was 31 years old. He died on February 21st, 2002 when the MH-47E Chinook helicopter crashed at sea in the southern Philippines during a training exercise. Captain Owens is survived by his wife Leah and their two children Megan and Lauren. My heart breaks for his family, no child should have to grow up without their father. I hope that the Owens girls know that their father died a hero and that he will never be forgotten for making the ultimate sacrifice. Thank you Captain Bartt D. Owens!!!
