Stand up for those who cannot do it for themselves!!!

http://www.cnn.com/2012/12/27/world/asia/india-rape-protests/index.html?hpt=wo_c1

Demonstrators shout slogans and wave placards as they move toward India Gate in New Delhi on Thursday, December 27. Authorities erected security barriers throughout New Delhi's key government district after two days of street battles following a woman's gang rape on a bus on December 16. Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh has appealed for calm and pledged safety for women and children.

This story makes me very sad and I had to share it because this is not just a problem for Indian women but for all women. There are too many women being raped, abuse and hurt and it is time the world takes notice and do something about this amount of hate. God did not create us to be this cruel and we need to take a stand and find our humanity since it seem to have gotten lost along the way on this journey we call life. It is never acceptable for a man to touch a woman in a manner that will cause her pain. Please read this and share it with everyone you know because this young woman in the article deserves justice and her voice should be heard and we are now her voice. I will try my very best to share this post for 30 days straight. It is now one of my goals for the new year to share stories like this and many others about hate and injustice to help shine some light on the hateful things people do to each other.

Frijoles Negros Con Arroz: Black Beans and Rice

This is a simple recipe I found on the back of a Goya black beans and rice container.

Ingredients                                                          Black Beans and Rice

4 Tablespoons, vegetable oil

1 cup onion, finely chopped

1/2 cup green pepper, chopped

4 cloves garlic, minced

1- 1 lb. 13 oz. can Goya Black Beans, undrained

1 1/2 cups of water

1 tablespoon oregano

2 packets Sazon Goya without Annatto

2 tablespoons cider vinegar

DIRECTIONS:

Heat oil in a large saucepan over medium heat. Add onion, pepper and garlic; cook until tender, about 5 minutes. Stir in remaining ingredients. Reduce heat and simmer 5-10 minutes. Serve over hot white rice.

This recipe should serve 8 people.

Missing: Adji Desir

Adji Desir went missing after he left to go play with friends on January 10th, 2009. He was reported missing that same evening. He was last seen wearing a blue and yellow t-shirt, blue and yellow shorts  with black and gray sneakers. He is mentally handicapped and functions at a two-year old level. His verbal skills are limited and he only speaks Creole. At the time of his disappearance Adji  weighed 45 pounds and was 3 feet tall. The first picture below is one that was taken not too long before he went missing and the other is  an age progression picture of what he might look like now. Please contact the Immokalee Police Department in  Florida or the Federal Bureau of Investigation directly. There is a reward for anyone who is able to provide information leading to his whereabouts. I would hope that you help not for the money for the simple fact that you want to see a child reunited with his loved ones.
